Byron, the reframe from “what job did I have?” to “what outcome did my work make possible?” is the unlock most mid-career professionals never find.

I’ve watched leaders with 20+ years of experience shrink their story to fit a job description that no longer exists. They don’t lack value. They lack translation.

What I’ve seen work: when a leader can name the specific kind of confusion they resolve, risk they reduce, or decision they improve – the market finds a container for them. But they have to name it first.

The people who navigate this best aren’t starting over. They’re reorganizing.

Todd. This is a great observation. Thanks for posting.

Appreciate that, Byron. The “reorganizing” framing is what changes everything for them. Same assets. New architecture.
